Tales of Xillia Remastered Review

So finished Tales of Xillia Remastered and I enjoyed it! From the moment I started Tales of Xillia, I was hooked by its dual-protagonist approach. Playing as Jude or Milla adds a unique layer to the narrative, making the world feel more dynamic and personal depending on whose perspective you follow. Milla’s strength and conviction as the Lord of Spirits contrast beautifully with Jude’s grounded, human perspective, and watching their journeys intertwine felt satisfying. What really stood out to me was the story. It tackles themes like sacrifice, responsibility, and the cost of progress in a way that feels meaningful without being overwhelming. The pacing kept me engaged throughout, and I truly cared about the party members, each character had their own charm, struggles, and growth that made the adventure feel alive. The combat system is where the game truly shines. The Linear Motion Battle System feels fast, fluid, and rewarding. Linking with party members and executing combo artes never got old, it created this constant sense of momentum and teamwork that made every fight exciting. It’s one of those systems that’s easy to pick up but has enough depth to keep you experimenting. Visually, the art style holds up with its vibrant environments and beautiful character designs. While it may not push technical boundaries, it has a charm and identity that fits the tone of the Tales of series perfectly. With the music being emotional, energetic, and sometimes haunting elevates key to the moments. The remaster also makes the gameplay feel more fluid. Faster load times and performance improvements remove many of the small frustrations that older versions sometimes had, allowing the pacing of the story and combat to shine uninterrupted. It feels more accessible than ever. What I appreciated most is how Tales of Xillia balances everything: story, gameplay, and characters. It never feels like one element overshadows the others. Instead, everything works together to create a memorable journey that feels both intimate and epic. Another Tales of game I had an enjoyable experience with, and I would definitely recommend it!
