Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Review
Finally rolled credits for Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster and what a journey. This game tested me in so many ways, both in the best and most frustrating ways possible. The job system is fantastic and easily one of the most addicting parts of the game, mixing and matching abilities, experimenting with different builds, and finding broken combos was so much fun. The combat feels fun, especially with the Brave and Default mechanics adding so much strategy to every battle. The characters were great and each of them had their own moments to shine. Plus the story had so many twists and turns that kept me invested the whole way through. Some of those boss fights were literally unforgettable and felt rewarding to overcome and the HD remaster looks beautiful, the updated visuals make the world feel more vibrant than ever, character models look cleaner, and the environments really pop. That said… I can’t deny the second half of the game started to feel repetitive, especially with revisiting dungeons and going through similar scenarios again and again. It definitely dragged the pacing down for me at times. But even with that frustration, the game’s charm, music, world, and overall experience still made it such a memorable adventure. Despite some flaws, I can see why so many people love this game!
