The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Review
So I finished The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, and I came away with pretty mixed feelings. The game starts off strong. The HD-2D art style is gorgeous, the soundtrack is great, and the combat is a lot of fun with an amazing variety of weapons and abilities to experiment with. Unfortunately, after a while, the game starts to show its biggest flaw: repetition. I found myself doing the same objectives over and over, revisiting the same areas multiple times with only minor differences. Even though the boss fights are visually impressive, several of them feel like slightly altered versions of previous encounters, which made the experience drag more than I expected. That said, the story was interesting enough to keep me invested until the credits rolled, and I wanted to see how everything ended. There are some great ideas here, but I think the repetitive gameplay holds it back from being something truly great. Would I recommend it at full price? Honestly, no. I’d wait for a decent sale. If you can pick it up at a discount, there’s still a fun adventure here, just be prepared for a lot of repetition along the way
